The Twinkle Factory turns inventions from academic laboratories into research reagents used around the world. We work hand in hand with technology transfer offices, and we are open to licensing further research tools in the life sciences.

Our licensors

Our technologies come from the laboratories of our scientific founders, Arnaud Gautier (Sorbonne Université), Ludovic Jullien (ENS-PSL and Sorbonne Université) and Franck Perez (Institut Curie). The patents are co-owned by CNRS, ENS-PSL, Institut Curie and Sorbonne Université, and licensed to Twinkle Bioscience S.A.S. by:

  • PSL (Université PSL): the FAST principal patent (EP 3 164 411, US 10,138,278, JP 6707472), splitFAST (US 12,590,127, JP 7582964; EP 3 719 007 pending) and the non-permeant fluorogens (EP 3 404 022, US 11,162,951).
  • SATT Lutech: CATCHFIRE (WO 2024/052353, with applications EP 4 584 590, JP 2025-529306 and CA 3 266 576 pending).

What we do with a licence

  • From patent to catalogue: we turn the invention into ready-to-use reagents, with datasheets, protocols and scientific support.
  • Worldwide reach: we supply research laboratories around the world, directly and through distributors.
  • Research use only: every product is sold for research use.
  • Value back to public research: our licences return value to the institutions behind the inventions.
  • A living scientific record: we follow more than 120 publications by laboratories using FAST, splitFAST and CATCHFIRE.

What we are looking for

Research tools for the life sciences that can become catalogue products: fluorescent probes and dyes, protein tags and labelling chemistries, biosensors, imaging and assay kits. Patented inventions, know-how and materials (plasmids, compounds) are all welcome.
